README
Here is a quick Read Me so we can cover some things.
FYI
Building Your First Gear Is Part of the Adventure In True Saga, constructing your first set of gear is part of becoming an adventurer.
To support this, the physical designs for Saga gear are open hardware. Anyone is welcome to build their own weapons and armor using common materials such as foam, craft supplies, and user-sourced electronics. What Is Open The following are open hardware under CERN-OHL-P v2.0: Physical weapon and armor designs Foam construction methods Sensor placement references Wiring layouts and build guides Mechanical dimensions and examples These designs are intended as reference builds, not rigid prescriptions. What Is Not Open The following are not open source and are not covered by the hardware license: Firmware and software Damage systems and game logic Communication and encoding methods Calibration, validation, and configuration tools These elements remain proprietary and are maintained by True Saga Imaginations, LLC to ensure consistency and compatibility across events. About Modifications Players are encouraged to personalize their gear. However: Significant physical changes may affect system behavior Not all builds will be compatible with official Saga firmware Official events may require gear to meet reference behavior standards Experimental or heavily modified builds are welcome outside official play. RF and Electronics Responsibility True Saga Imaginations, LLC does not sell or provide RF modules. All RF components are selected, installed, and operated by the builder. Builders are responsible for ensuring compliance with local regulations, including FCC Part 15 in the United States.
In Short Build your own gear Make it yours Follow the reference designs if you want official compatibility Software defines the shared reality.
